Aboujoudé Hospital is thrilled to announce the successful graduation of 30 highly-skilled young men and women who have officially qualified as Healthcare Assistants. This milestone, celebrated right here at our facility in Jal El Dib, Mount Lebanon, significantly bolsters Lebanon's crucial healthcare workforce.
The graduation ceremony was the culmination of the EU-funded ENABLE Programme, a vital initiative delivered through the partnership of the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Safadi Foundation, the Directorate General of Vocational and Technical Education (DGTVET), and, most importantly, our hospital.
A Commitment to Work-Based Learning
At Aboujoudé Hospital, we are committed to being more than just a place of healing; we are a hub for professional development and opportunity.
For years, we have championed the importance of hands-on training, providing a secure environment for individuals without formal diplomas to train and excel in essential roles like Healthcare Assistant.
These professionals are the backbone of patient care, and their skills are indispensable, especially given Lebanon's ongoing socio-economic challenges.
As our Medical Director, Dr. Imad Abou Jaoudeh, stated at the ceremony, this pilot program has been immensely successful. It proves the value of a rapid, work-based training model that equips graduates with practical, immediate skills that lead directly to employment.
Investing in the Future of Healthcare
This collaboration is a direct investment in the resilience of our community and the quality of care we can provide. The passion demonstrated by these new graduates is inspiring, affirming the belief that "investing in young people is investing in the future."
We look forward to expanding this successful template. We are hopeful that, through continued partnership with the ILO and the European Union, we can scale this work-based learning model to include other critical roles such as nurses, midwives, and surgical assistants across Lebanon.
We extend our sincere congratulations to the graduating class and express our deep gratitude to all partners for helping Aboujoudé Hospital lead the charge in securing a brighter, healthier future for our nation.
